Weenus' Semi Sporadic But Not Rhythmic Update Blog 4th Edition
Wow. The playoffs are set and, to be honest, I didn't see it playing out exactly like this.
It really sucks for a team like Chicago Chimera who has the exact same record as Carolina Core but has to go home because of the head to head, but, honestly, both teams were playing rough this season, especially when you consider the fact that they represented the North American region in 2007. Still, it really bums me out that I won't get to see Da Bears, Stevenson, tr1p, or Brian running around the player village and set anymore. Regardless, better them than Dallas Venom, on any level. I'm unbelievably stoked that I get to hang out with the Venom gang for at least another week or two.
The past few days have been a blur of competition, work, and funny conversations that can't really be repeated here. It was unbelievable to watch compLexity win two back to back matches, but the highlight of that fact was by kamRA, or Hogan as people around the CGS lovingly know him as. During the compLexity vs. 3D.NY match, Rambo, as CT, is in a 3vs1 situation with the bomb planted in A. He comes up from middle, and you see a T run behind the clutch boxes. At this point I blurt out; “Wow, what if Ron actually wins this round...” seconds before Rambo dumped a grenade behind the boxes, killing Volcano in the process. Right when Volcano's body flies from out behind the boxes, Hogan explodes with a quick fit of laughter, not realizing that 3D.NY was sitting right behind the door to the room we were in. About 10 minutes later, as I'm walking around the CGS offices, Volcano asked me if I was the guy who laughed at him. I promptly threw kamRA under the bus. TAKE THAT HOGAN!
The entire player village is in a state of flux, with international teams coming in and other teams leaving. Certain people, who have booked flights that really balanced around the fact that their specific team would be in the World Final, and didn't make it, are now completely displaced with nowhere to really stay until the remainder of their flight schedules. It really sucks, and if we at SSLA, AKA the dopest apartment in the entire player village, had a bit more space, we'd offer it... but we don't.
Today, Dr Dogg and I joined the sWooZie show on the compLexity stream in progress. It was sWooZie and liefje hosting, with a constant revolving door of player talent joining the stream as well. Basically, between Master, Phoenix, sWooZie, and I being on the stream, it was like Venom Vision all over again. Thats the second time that we've brought together a sWooZie & Friends show, and its becoming more and more likely that we will take that show on the road, or more directly, into our room.
I feel its worth noting that breakfast with Chappelle and sWooZie is quite an experience. Chappelle is always good times, whether he's dancing, freestyling, or just chang-in out, he's always fun to be around. That, added to sWooZie's interesting conversations, and a massive seagull that eats fries whole off of the ground, makes for a great breakfast. Chappelle is a generous dude, and he gave the majority of his edible food to the animals that frequent that little beach side cafe. Although in retrospect, I'm sure those dirty birds are well fed.
I guess the last recent order of business is the elusive cat community that lives in the player village. While my good pal Phoenix is a cat person, like me, the cats around here are vicious little ugly creatures, and I can no longer lie about it for the sake of making Phoenix happy. These hideous creatures also run around the halls of the player village, dropping mystery deuces (ie: pooping) on the floors in front of door ways. They seem to be centered around Alex Conroy's room. More news as that develops.
Well guys, I now have Kasumi Chan and Perfect Legend hanging out here on their last night before they both leave, as well as Phoenix, to play some California Prison Uno as a going away party.
Here's a tip, if you want a cheap way to make Phoenix smile or giggle, reference a kitten riding on a pony.
Trust me.
A little more writing and a little less prison uno though
I'm sur the article on the rules for Prison Uno is coming out soon......
