Weenus' Preseason Preview 2:3
While last week wasn't exactly full of surprises, it was still interesting to say the least. Between San Fran's blowout win over a clearly unmotivated Carolina, the overtime match between the new Dallas versus the new Chicago, and a decent showing from the retooled New York against the Counter-Strike: Source World Champions, Los Angeles, there wasn't a dull match of the night. Coming up next is a night of what promises to be equally gut wrenching for fans. While we have three matches that should normally be well balanced, exciting bouts, we have at least two taxi players being put into play, which is slowly becoming a universal modifier for excuses and a lack of motivation.
Dallas Venom vs. San Francisco Optx
Last week's overtime win over Chicago should have been a great start to the pre-season for Dallas, but after running over Carolina like a runaway train, San Fran should be floating on cloud nine tonight. Still, after clown and moe came into Vegas this past weekend with my new favorite rifler, Carolina's Org, I'd love to see any members of Optx taken down a peg.

OPTX|moE after win over Carolina.
While I clearly underestimated San Fran's potential this early on, I have heard nothing but misquotes and statements I wrote that were taken completely out of context from the optx. If you think that I've slammed you as a player or your team as a lineup yet, you're sadly mistaken, and when I decide to full on 'slam' a team, you'll be more than aware of it, as well as the readers, the fans, and the staff at large. The amount of illiteracy and incompetence I've had to deal with from people who have trouble taking honest criticism and concerns is almost embarrassing, and to a degree, I wonder how some of these people have managed to feed themselves or cash a paycheck.
All rage-writing aside, this will be one of Dallas' toughest matches of the pre-season, and if they can get past the freight train offense of the Optx, and if my boy Brawwr wants to redeem me, it should be closed off late in the second half, I'll say something close to 10-8 or even an overtime win.
Chicago Chimera vs. 3D New York
Oh look, a taxi player. Chicago will be playing Ryan Pham, formerly of the Optx, in the match tonight against 3D. As of the time of press, ie: now, I've been unable to find out exactly who he'll be playing for, which in all honesty does make a difference. Still, if Carolina's performance on de_inferno is any indicator, it means that Chicago will fall apart, roll over, and die like a wounded animal live on SourceTV.

Will juan have more tricks up his sleeve for this weeks match?
Hopefully, Chicago is the team that will take a taxi player seriously, and give the player a sincere attempt at proving his worth to the lineup. Regardless, I feel like Chicago is a great match up for the new 3D, a team that is still looking to prove its potential in the upcoming season. Chicago has a lineup of slower, less aggressive players than San Fran, which means New York will have more opportunities to flash off some thinking man's Counter-Strike, with some innovative strat work being executed by intelligent players like Juan, Volcano, and Ksharp, while Mr. Mikey So runs around and headshots things.
I don't see this one going the distance, and it should be decided before the regulation time is up. The win will be scored probably around 10-6 or 10-7, one team is going to get curbed early here, and I doubt we'll see them bouncing back.
arolina Core vs. Los Angeles compLexity
Dolven's Great White Hope looks to tee off against the World Champs, Los Angeles. Here, former coL superstar Sunman will be filling in for zet, which in my honest opinion, is just about an even trade. If Dolven learned anything from last week, he's either playing his original rotation here, or he has a taxi player sneaking in, after beating his rostered players into submission with a lead pipe.
I had the opportunity this past weekend to watch and play against Carolina's org, who, as I previously stated, has slowly worked his way into becoming one of my favorite rifler's on the circuit. Don't get me wrong, he's always been a dominant player whenever he's been active, but he was only teased with the spotlight intermittently, when he was surrounded by a roster that could truly harness his potential. Carolina is that roster, with devour and s0nny there to match org in frags, the leadership of Daffsta and the... well... Torrezness of Torrez, Carolina is a team where you will see org truly shine, and he will begin to steal the spotlight off of the championed devour.

Hopefully devour will have a better match this week.
The only thing that could rob org's potential to run wild all over compLexity, would be a lack of intensity of motivation from Carolina, which hopefully, won't happen. As long as Carolina has gotten over the fact that this match is being played over the INTERNET, like so many matches in each of these players career have been, then we will see a nice back and forth match, with a possible overtime decision. Probably the match of the night, all good thoughts provided.
Probably, no promises.
