Venom Loses Finals 21-20

Well the North America season is officially over and Carolina is now holding the crown as North American champions. The overall match was 21-20, but the match wasn't nearly as close as it looks. Out of the gate was Forza and Carolina was able to pick up a 3 point lead to start the match by winning 5-2. This was followed by FIFA where Carolina was able to win 1-0 once again. The next match may have been the straw that broke the camel's back with DoA Male. Master was put up against his rival of the season OffbeatNinja and all there is to say is that Offbeat came to play and knew he had to put up big numbers for his team, and he did just that. Offbeat was able to defeat our franchise player Master 5-1. This now made the overall score 11-3 in Carolina's favor and there were only two games left. Phoenix was up, and she was currently 1-1 head to head with Mystik, and this would be the tie breaker. With the Venom down by 8 points, anything less than a 5-3 win would make it tough for the Counter-Strike: Source squad to bring it home for the team. The DoA Female match started close, but Mystik soon went up to gamepoint with a 4-2 lead, it was then that Phoenix kicked it into gear taking the next three rounds in a row. With the DoA Female win from Phoenix, the overall score was now 15-8, and the first half of Source was over with the Venom leading 6-3 changing the overall score to 18-14 in Core's favor. It was time for the second half of Source and the Core only needed 3 rounds to win the match, and the Venom needed 7. The match was off to a phenomenal start for the Venom as they quickly took a 5-0 lead, but then the tempo slowed down a bit as the two teams exchanged rounds. It came down to the last round with the Venom up 6-2, and the Core came up big to clinch the last round making the overall score 21-20 for the match. Congratulations to Carolina Core, and we'll be seeing you again in the World Final.
