Pro-Am Preview: Cyber Revolution

We've arrived in Week 5, and the Venom face their toughest match yet. Once you see the roster of the team the Venom are playing in Week 5, you may begin to see some familiar faces. It's CEVO-Professional Veterans, Cyber Revolution, or by their historical name, FEVER. After playing IRC tag with a number of Cyber Revolution members for a few days, I was finally able to catch up with David “zDk” Figueroa, and find out a little bit of background info on the team, as well as their thoughts on tonight's match.

Your roster looks to have a lot of familiar Source names, how long have you all been playing together, and what are some of the teams accomplishments?

As a team we've been together off and on since Season 5 of CAL( currently Season 12). Some accomplishments are winning cal-open season 5, cal-invite season 7, cevo-main season 3( first season CEVO had a main division for source), winning cal-main season 11, and being in CEVO-P last season.

Also since about 3-4 of us are extremely close to each other in Florida we attend every FL LAN to make some extra money.

Seems like you guys have gone through quite a few name changes, what are some of the names fans might identify you as, and what is the deal with that?

Well we have gone through a few name changes due to sponsorships. Theres always organizations that promise this and that but never come through. When they don't, we leave. We have been StreamLine Gaming, 50calibre. But most of the community know us as our original name, FEVER. This is the name that we have gotten most of our accomplishments. And now Cyber Revolution who is the best sponsor we've ever had.

With history in CEVO Pro, you've probably faced off against your share of CGS teams. How have you faired so far?

We've had our fair share of playing CGS teams. So far we've been able to hang with them. There are a few matches we played last season that I feel we should have won but lost due to our own mistakes. But that fixes itself with more experience. But we are definitely able to keep up with the CGS teams. But in source, I believe on any given day a team can beat another. Never know the circumstances one team might have.

How do you think you'll do against Venom on de_Season? Would you consider it one of your stronger maps?

Since playing Complexity on season we've fixed A LOT of our mistakes in and out of the game. So I don't think the fans will see a blowout like they saw on Monday. We consider Season to be one of our strong maps but definitely not our strongest. We plan on doing our best to beat Venom. But I definitely think it will a good match.
